Trump Business Attempted to Hire Almost 200 Workers on Visas in 2025

Donald Trump’s family business accelerated its hiring of foreign workers on temporary visas this year, even as his government was placing obstacles for other businesses attempting to do the identical, a report released recently stated.

Based on data from the federal labor department, the business aimed to bring in at least 184 foreign workers in the coming year for temporary positions at the US president’s Florida property, two golf clubs and his winery in Virginia.

The quantity of requests for temporary work visas for workers including waitstaff, clerks, housekeepers, culinary employees and farm workers was the record submitted by the company, and up from over 120 in the previous term, when his presidency concluded.

It was also the fifth instance in 10 years that the former president had sought to hire over a hundred foreign employees for seasonal jobs at Mar-a-Lago, based on labor statistics.

The revelation coincides with a crackdown on immigration laws by his government that has involved the implementation of a substantial charge on H1-B visas; increased review of the actions of the 55 million people who already hold US visas; and restrictive new rules for international scholars and journalists.

Overall, the Trump Organization sought to hire over 560 overseas workers over the period the former president has been in the White House, from 2017 to 2021 and during 2025.

Notably, Trump was criticized by some in the GOP this period for remarks justifying the necessity for foreign workers when a business was unable to find people with “specific talents” to fill certain positions.

“You can’t just say a country is entering, going to spend billions to build a facility, and going to recruit individuals off an unemployment line who have been unemployed in five years, and they’re going to start making their missiles. It doesn’t work that well,” he stated to a host after she suggested that overseas employees undercut the wages of US workers.

The White House refused a inquiry for response, and the Trump Organization did not immediately respond to an request for information.
