Philly Falter in Dallas & Patrick Rescues Kansas City – Top Highlights from National Football League the Twelfth Week
The twelfth week delivered an incredible Dallas Cowboys rally, or was it an epic Eagles collapse?
Postseason Mahomes arrived to salvage the Chiefs' season while the Chicago Bears continue to surprise as they continue their winning streak.
Did Sanders perform sufficiently on his debut NFL start to earn the full-time role in Cleveland?
We’ll examine at the best of the week in the league.
The Breakdown – Dallas Rally or Eagles Collapse?
The Cowboys were trailing badly at twenty-one to zero behind against the reigning championship winners, so how on earth did they engineer their equal-largest recovery in history?
The emotions of a first home fixture since a teammate’s untimely passing may have played a part, but technically it was a combination of Dak Prescott determination and a defensive unit that pounced on uncommon errors by the Philadelphia.
Dak eclipsed Romo’s marks for yards thrown (now thirty-four thousand three hundred seventy-eight) and clutch drives (25) with an all-action display – his diving touchdown personifying his energetic display.
Philly squandered a lead of twenty-one points or more for the initial time after 1999, with just their second game with several giveaways this season – the previous being a disappointing division loss at the Giants.
In addition to fourteen penalties for 96 yards, the attacking struggles that hit Hurts after what – for him – was an explosive beginning was significant. He'd only thrown for over two hundred yards in four games prior to the weekend, he had over 150 in the opening two quarters alone in Texas.
Yet from the time Philadelphia went 21-0 up their offence derailed dramatically – with four straight punts, a failed three-point attempt and then a fumble giving chance after opportunity to the Cowboys.
Philadelphia’s defence is excellent, it truly is, but an offence that's not eclipsed 21 points in five of 7 games (3 losses) is now a huge worry, as the pieces are all there but it's simply not working.
Sirianni’s approach is all about securing the big moments, the defence maintains them in it and what offence there is does barely enough – if it can't even do that and now the discipline and ball protection is failing, there could be trouble in the future.
Spotlight – Playoff Patrick Appears Early to Save Chiefs
It wasn’t quite as dramatic, but the Chiefs’ 11-point comeback in the fourth quarter versus a strong Colts squad was very impressive – and may have just saved their campaign.
How significant was it? Well, the NFL's advanced analytics now give the Chiefs a fifty-eight percent probability of making the postseason, whereas a defeat on the weekend would have reduced that figure to twenty-eight percent.
No wonder the playoff form of Patrick Mahomes arrived, passing for 235 yards in the second half by itself and leading three point-scoring possessions in their final four series to win it in extra time.
A few huge passes and daring runs are commonplace for Mahomes in the playoffs, but currently the Kansas City are in playoff form – at 6-5 and just tenth in the AFC standings.
That was more like the former Kansas City though, with a first one-score victory of the year after dropping five previously – they won eleven of them last year so, if that confidence comes back, this Kansas City faithful might not be done so soon.
Discussion – Are Chicago Be Kings of the North?
You just can't overlook the Chicago Bears now. A victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, without Aaron Rodgers, kept them first of the division and at eight and three – sharing the identical standing as the Philadelphia.
They look threatening on both sides of the ball, with a defence that leads the league in interceptions and total turnovers and, in Caleb Williams, a young player now used to winning close games.
He can still be shaky, giving away a touchdown after a fumble in his own end zone – but he additionally threw three touchdowns and, with already 5 fourth-quarter rallies this year, he understands how to get the job done.
The Green Bay Packers are in close chase in the division after dominating the Vikings and Detroit are in contention after overcoming the New York in overtime with a huge game from Gibbs.
Chicago are strangely the most consistent with eight victories in nine, but as they travel to the championship winners on the holiday we'll see exactly how good they really are.
Preview – Exciting Holiday in Prospect
This looks one of the best Thanksgiving schedules for a long time, with each game loaded with postseason implications.
Detroit welcome the Green Bay in the classic opener in Michigan, prior to a unusual visit back to Dallas for the Kansas City, who started out life as the Dallas Texans way back in the sixties before relocating to Missouri.
The weekend’s rally teams are each clinging to playoff aspirations but have very little margin for mistakes – so this will have a playoff feel.
What about the Baltimore Ravens? An ugly victory over the New York actually has them top of the AFC North after starting one and five and looking dead and buried.

Will Shedeur Sanders Keep His Starting Role?
Cleveland Browns coach Kevin Stefanski batted away questions on whether Shedeur Sanders had done enough in his debut NFL start to maintain the first-team job when Dillon Gabriel comes back.
Yet the question will keep being raised as Sanders became the first Cleveland quarterback to secure his debut league start after Eric Zeier in nineteen ninety-nine – with 17 other first-year signal callers unsuccessful to do so afterward.
It was only the Las Vegas, and with the help of an nearly aggressive Browns defence recording ten sacks, but Cleveland's offence needs a director, a figurehead to inspire confidence.
And confidence is something not missing in Sanders, who informed a network {
