David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

The comedian

Prolific young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the publisher stated: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding claims about questionable actions towards young women.

The company declined to specify the reasons for its decision, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

His bibliography includes over four dozen titles altogether, which features a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
