The United Kingdom is set to progress with utilizing the total value of frozen Russia's funds to bolster the Ukrainian war effort, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a collective announcement, the officials of the United Kingdom, France, and Germany stated that this unified step would escalate tension on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and persuade Moscow to engage in negotiations.

They clarified that the move would be executed in tight collaboration with the US.

United Kingdom sanctions have immobilized in excess of £25bn of Russian funds since Moscow began its comprehensive attack against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. But, up to this point, resources sent to the Ukrainian government using Russian holdings had exclusively been taken from gains and dividends accrued on them.

Sir Keir assured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were in agreement in their goal to drive progress toward employing the full value of the immobilized Moscow's national holdings to halt hostilities.

He noted that more restrictions in the coming days and weeks would heighten the tension on the Russian government.

This announcement follows EU representatives gathered in Copenhagen recently to debate utilizing frozen Russian assets for a €140bn loan to the Ukrainian nation.

In the previous month, US President Donald Trump encouraged international partners to seize or utilize frozen Russian funds, according to news outlets.

The value of frozen Russia's holdings in the EU is assessed to be nearly €211bn.

Moscow launched extensive bombardments all over Ukraine on that day, leading to power cuts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv, and multiple additional areas.

A pair of individuals were fatally injured and no fewer than 20 people were hurt in the strike, Ukrainian officials said.

In a message on an online platform after the attack, Zelensky commented that the premeditated assault focused on non-military and power facilities.

"What's needed is not mere statements but firm measures - from the America, EU, and the seven nations - in supplying anti-aircraft weapons and implementing penalties," he emphasized.

"All penalty impositions weakens Moscow's military apparatus," Zelensky declared, in a different message.

Also on Friday, Zelensky told the press he would encourage Sir Keir to join the Purl scheme, under which partner nations purchase military equipment from the United States to provide to Ukraine.

While praising the Britain's strong support for the Ukrainian government, he remarked it should demonstrate clearly that it would participate in the initiative, as well as apply more restrictions on the Russian Federation.
